Velvet is very proud to announce it's next major event at the Bibliotek.

That's right Velvet is taking you to one of Northampton's premier and most up market night spots.

This night is all about upper class clubbing in surroundings that will simply blow your mind. We are offering you an intimate, classy, stylish and sophisticated night out with like minded people.

The music will be supplied by Velvet's residents supported by guest dj's. The tone will be funky, chunky house music, blended with classics and familiar vocals from decades gone by. This really will be on awesome party.

There will be plenty of Velvet surprises, with a main room that will keep you tuned all night. The Bibliotek will be transformed from swanky restaurant / piano bar to a proper dance floor with all the trimmings!!!

This is one night you will not want to miss.

At last Things Get Moving.........

I feel like we must introduce ourselves it's been so long........

Well The Velvet trio have been tied up securing the long-term future of Velvet. It is not all the high life and we have had to work very hard behind the scenes to secure some very interesting opportunities (without giving too much away!!!) You will be pleased to know that we can give you an update:

Velvet Promotions is set to change it's name in the near future to reflect some important changes. The name which cannot be revealed will better reflect the promotion company rather than the specific night. I.e Promotion company x, will present Velvet....

Velvet will become the single name for the legendary nights we have put on to date - there will be no change to the running of the events, i.e the same red carpet, high quality and safe nights out. News on our next event will be coming very soon. The event will be in Northampton around mid July-all being well!!!!

The new promotion company will also (subject to agreement) be putting on a weekly event - more details coming soon.

The promotion company is also preparing a third event like no other. No more can be said for now until the official press release.

I am probably in trouble for telling you that much, however i hope you share our excitement and commitment to truly memorable nights out and a lot more!!!

Velvet Photos from Motion on 5th May have been sent to the website master, therefore should be online real soon. Also the review from Motion will be coming.

Firstly let me apologies for the late update of the sight. Photos and the full review will be coming very soon.

The reason for the delay revolves around the long term security of Velvet and the direction it's next night takes.

I cannot reveal much at the moment, but if you thought the last event was good and refreshing, you haven't seen anything yet. We are negotiating a very interesting and challenging venue that would simply blow you all away. The official press release will be released here first so stay tuned, it will be in the next two weeks.

I look forward to updating you soon on our next, biggest event. Spaces will for sure be limited so keep with us, you won't want to miss it!

well it has certainly taken us a few days to recover following our event last Saturday.

Useful Information for those heading to Northampton

Never been to Northampton, but want to come to Velvet?

Where is the main spots?

Well Northampton's night spots are fairly close together. Most people drift along the Wellingborough road taking in a few traditional pubs. From here you progress to Abington street where you can find Lloyds and close by Yates Wine Bar. From here it is down to Bridge Street, where you will find more bars than you can shake a stick at. For this Event Velvet recommends Balloon Bar as the official pre-Velvet warm up - we'll see you in there! From Bridge street it is a small walk back up Abington street to Motion. There will be lots of Velvet PR including our shadow dancers so you won't miss us.

How to get here?

Northampton is very easy to get to. The bus station is very close to Motion only 2 minute walk. Likewise the train station is only a 20 min walk or 2 min cab drive. By road it is very straight forward, serviced by the M1 and various other good A roads - head straight for the town centre. Parking is also very easy and FREE if you know the right places. Velvet recommends the public car park of Peter's Way. Beware the top carpark is FREE after a certain time, the bottom one isn't, as i found out!! There are loads of other carparks around Northampton @ Sol Central and at the Mayor Hold which is open 24 hours. If you don't mind paying there is a small car park right next to Motion. Check out "http://www.northampton.gov.uk/site/scripts/download_info.php?fileID=752" for details and map locations. Motion is next to P10 car park - Wellington Street.

How to find Motion?

Motion is just off Abington street which is a large pedestrianised walkway. There is a very small public carpark right behind Motion which is P10 on the map from the link above. Motion is right behind the main shopping centre, The Governor Centre. As you walk up Abington Street it is opposite the old library. You won't miss us as you will see the red carpet and tunnel!

It's only a 10 min walk from Motion, well 20 mins if you've been swinging your thing all night, it's very cheap, but good for the money!
